The study presents the use of folk imagination in literature, by applying it to the two plays “MismarJuha” by Ali Ahmad Bakathir and “The Council of Justice” by Tawfiq Al-Hakim. This is due to the agreement of the two works on several points, the most important of which are: that the two texts depended on the use of the folk imagination, in terms of form Where the old text and the new text overlapped, and in terms of content, the issue addressed is old and modern, which is the struggle between justice and injustice, and the takeover of what belongs to others. Therefore, the use of folk imagination was appropriate and not inconsistent, and proportional with the issue it deals with, so intertextuality was achieved in the structure of the text that is related to the form and the text and intertextuality that is related to the idea. The study relies on the structural criticism method.
The structure of both texts -in their forms- depends on other texts that are of public origins in addition to their symbolic structures.
