Abstract

The article discusses the main types of syntactic constructions that act as instruments of expressiveness in the texts of modern electronic mass media. It was revealed that most often journalists resort to such means of expressive syntax as parceled constructions, chopped syntax, antithesis, inversion, syntactic repetition, syntactic parallelism, sentences with direct speech, quasi-quotation, nominative, infinitive, incomplete, exclamatory, motivating, and interrogative sentences, question-and-answer reception, etc. Syntactic constructions act as tools with the help of which the construction of a phrase or an element of the text is completed, and conditions are created for elements of different levels to achieve the degree of expressiveness necessary for the author. Any syntactic structure is potentially capable of performing expressive functions, and the degree of expressiveness of the syntactic means of an electronic media text depends on the author's speech intentions.
