Linguistic creativity in Telephone Tales by Gianni Rodari (Morpholexical study)

Abstract

     The lexicon is an unlimited, open, flexible, and creative system. Through this word one can love, hate, invent, create, imagine, etc. Rodari's writing has brought new themes, and new arguments and it can be said that Rodari in Telephone Tales has come with his imagination to create instruments that were not there in his time. Rodari was a genius, an intellectual who transmitted through the lexicon a very high level of imagination, fantasy, and creations invented for the age of his readers. Among the different uses of the language, Rodari was able to use the word with a creative function by adding a noun or adjective, composing words, or adding a suffix or prefix o by creating new words or language. The purpose of this article is to explain the innovative use of the word as a creative tool, I analyze the term "linguistic creativity" and its types in linguistics and how it has been interpreted by great linguists, and I analyze some aspects of Rodarian linguistic creativity inTelephone Tales.
