Abstract

the research is aimed at studying the meaning of human existence in the story "Adam" by the writer S.M.Jaradetsky. The goal assumes the solution of the following tasks: consideration of the ideological content of the story, identification of the characteristics of the main images and highlight the artistic means used by the writer.  We will rely on critical-literary and analytical methods that correspond to the goals and objectives of our research. Adam sees the meaning of life in creating a green paradise on Earth in the presence of a companion of his path. Irina's view of the meaning of human existence is consistent with Adam's. She is looking for a real man. Gobi cares about his personal interests even at the expense of others. Victor looks at life with dreamy eyes like children. The meaning of life for Mikhail is to feel the suffering of others and help them.
