Abstract

This research aims to compare today’s generation in contemporary times with many difficulties and increasingly pressing challenges and how to overcome them to continue their journey towards adulthood and its responsibilities. The search for identity is one of the main goals of adolescence in particular, at that point in one’s life many choices and obligations will shape one’s identity in adulthood. Rania, the novel's protagonist, is about to move to the second-grade preparatory school and does not know about the new circumstances in her life. Fortunately, there are some constant circumstances in her life: some friends, some chat with his father, some argue with his little brother. In summary, Elionora Fornasari’s novel recently published in 2020, "Happiness Recipe", deeply presents the search for adolescent identity as a manifest disorder of our present time. The research, then, aims to identify the characteristics of the teenager on the one hand, and the crisis of the search for identity on the other, as well as the characteristics and methods of writing in the novel written by "Eleonora Fornasari."
